The traditional cooking in Tibet and Nepal is a sort of art which is used in Sherpa
Restaurant in Amsterdam since 1989. Nepalese meals are prepared with soft types of
spices while Tibetan meals are prepared with plenty of ravioli and noodles. Ravioli
is prepared in two different styles in our kitchen: Momo's (steamed) and Kothey
(fried).
The proprietor of Sherpa Restaurant is Mr Ranga Nath Sharma who is born in
Kathmandu, Nepal. Mr Sharma has been living throughout Europa since 1972. He has
been the first to open a Nepalese-Tibetan Restaurant in Europe in 1989. Since
then it is known as a restaurant with a friendly athmosphere, famous for it's
authentic Nepalese and Tibetan decoration and music. Many acknowledge that
Sherpa Restaurant is in it's simplicity the best in town.
To this day on many people who have visited Nepal, or are planning to, come to Sherpa
Restaurant to experience the special ambience at Sherpa Restaurant. Nepalese and
Tibetans visiting Amsterdam also often come to our restaurant for it's quality
food. It's location is very conveniently for tourists and alike. It is located
in the hart of Amsterdam, near the famous Leidseplein (Leidse Sqaure).
